Nail fungus, medically known as onychomycosis, is a common condition that causes changes in the color and shape of your nails due to a fungal infection. Although fungus can affect nails on both the hands and feet, it is most commonly found in the toenails.

You may have a fungal infection if you notice one or more of the following signs and symptoms:

• A part of the nail turning white, yellow, brown, or another color
• Discoloration that spreads without treatment

Afsaneh Latifi, DPM has been in practice for 29 years, providing vital podiatric services for her patients throughout New York City. In her thriving private practice located in her own neighborhood of the Upper East Side in Manhattan, Dr. Latifi cares for patients dealing with an array of foot and ankle conditions.
